2022 SCO Countries Humanities Exchange Forum in Qingdao

On December 21st, the First Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) National Humanities Exchange Forum 2022, jointly organised by the Centre for Sino-foreign Humanities Exchange of the Ministry of Education, the Qingdao Municipal People's Government and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Secretariat, and hosted by the Qingdao Education Bureau, the Qingdao Foreign Affairs Office and the Management Committee of the SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone, opened at the newly completed Qingdao-Shanghai Cooperation Pearl International Expo Centre.

The forum aims to implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Qingdao Summit and the requirement of "strengthening humanistic exchanges" in his important speech at the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in September 2022, to promote educational cooperation and humanistic exchanges between the SCO and "One Belt, One Road" countries based in Qingdao, and to promote people-to-people contacts and friendship.It is reported that the forum includes the opening ceremony, results release, keynote reports, parallel sub-forums on basic education, vocational education and higher education, as well as the conclusion of the plenary session. 40 guests from different SCO countries focused on the theme of "Deepening International Exchange and Cooperation in Education and Promoting People-to-people Ties among SCO Countries", the sub-forum on basic education "Humanities Exchange for Inclusive, Equitable and Quality Education", the sub-forum on vocational education The theme of the seminar was "Promoting Digital Skills Training and Enabling Local Economic Development", and the theme of the Higher Education Sub-forum was "Cooperation in Higher Education and International Talent Training in SCO Countries".

The forum also saw the release of the "2022 Qingdao Initiative on Educational Humanities Exchange and Cooperation among SCO Countries" and the "New Six Arts" curriculum of Qingdao No. 9 Middle School, the signing of a cooperation agreement between SCO countries' friendship schools, and the inauguration of the Qingdao Educational Humanities Exchange Research Centre by Du Kewei, Director of the Chinese and Foreign Humanities Exchange Centre of the Ministry of Education, and Wang Bo, Vice Mayor of Qingdao Municipal Government. The Qingdao Education and Humanities Exchange Research Centre was inaugurated by Mr. Du Kewei, Director of the Chinese and Foreign Humanities Exchange Centre of the Ministry of Education and Mr. Wang Bo, Vice Mayor of Qingdao Municipal Government. At the same time, Qingdao Education International Exchange Week was opened.
