Call for "SCO Digital Technology Picture Works" for 2025 Opens
China officially took over the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) for 2024-2025 after the Astana summit in July 2024, and will launch a series of cooperation projects and actions around the world under the theme of the "SCO Year of Sustainable Development". Over the years, the SCO has given top priority to promoting digital cooperation among its member states and facilitating digital transformation. Call for 2025 "China-SCO Digital Public Products" Is Now Open
Following the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Astana Summit in July 2024, China officially assumed the rotating presidency of the SCO for the 2024-2025 term. Under the theme of the "SCO Year of Sustainable Development", and with focus on the eight key areas of the Global Development Initiative, China will conduct a series of collaborations and actions in fields such as poverty reduction, food security, public health, development financing, climate change and green development, industrialization, and digital economy.
Call for “Cases of China-SCO Digital Cooperation” Is Now Open
On September 16, 2022, Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and delivered an important speech, in which he proposed to "set up the China-SCO Big Data Cooperation Center to create new engines for common development". In October 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) granted approval to China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) to organize the "China-SCO Big Data Cooperation Center" project as an international exchange and cooperation platform for capacity building, application innovation, joint research and industry cooperation in the field of digital technologies between China and SCO countries.
The second workshop on poverty reduction and development in SCO countries started in Chongqing
On January 10th, The second workshop was held at Southwest University, where experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health and Social Security, Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment and the Development Committee of Tajikistan exchanged practices and experiences on the eradication of absolute poverty and rural revitalisation in China, explored ways and measures to modernise poverty reduction and rural development in the country, and enhanced the capacity for poverty reduction and sustainable development through online training.
2022 SCO Countries Humanities Exchange Forum in Qingdao
On December 21st, the First Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) National Humanities Exchange Forum 2022, jointly organised by the Centre for Sino-foreign Humanities Exchange of the Ministry of Education, the Qingdao Municipal People's Government and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Secretariat, and hosted by the Qingdao Education Bureau, the Qingdao Foreign Affairs Office and the Management Committee of the SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone, opened at the newly completed Qingdao-Shanghai Cooperation Pearl International Expo Centre.
