In 2025, during its rotating presidency of the SCO, China will host a series of activities under the theme "SCO Year of Sustainable Development". In particular, the 2025 China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Digital Technology Cooperation and Development Forum marks its third version. Approved by MIIT, the Forum will be jointly organized by CAICT and the Karamay Municipal People's Government.

Under the guidance of MIIT and other relevant authorities, CAICT will leverage its expertise in digital technologies to advance the work of the China-SCO Big Data Cooperation Center. As a key initiative under the Cooperation Center, this Forum aims to provide multidimensional, multi-tiered, and diversified platforms for exchange and collaboration, fostering industrial alignment and partnership opportunities across SCO member states, and build an open multilateral cooperation ecosystem characterized by mutual advancement and collaborative progress.
